The film is adapted from the manga of the same name. At the funeral of his sister and her husband, the socially anxious novelist Makio Takashiro (played by Yui Aragaki) could not ignore the orphan of his sister, Taguchi Asa (played by Hayase Hikaru), who was being blamed by his relatives, and decided to adopt her. However, after taking his niece home, the socially awkward Makio realized that he was not suitable to live with anyone.
