It tells the story of the first generation of public security fighters in Shanghai fighting against Chiang Kai-shek's spies who attempted to subvert the new China around 1950. The story revolves around a young policeman from the old era who has a high IQ but was unsuccessful in the old society, and who reformed and grew up in the new China, and an experienced old CCP agent who joins forces to develop a new image.
