It tells the story of Yang Gensi, China's first "super hero". During the Korean War, he led the third company to Changjin Lake and repelled eight rounds of attacks by the US military on Xiaogaoling. When the ammunition was exhausted and there were only two wounded soldiers left in the whole platoon, he picked up the last explosive pack and launched a charge, defending the position with his life.
