Plot:
The play is adapted from the novel "Cang Jiao" by Kuang Shangjia Kuang. It tells the story of the "cat and mouse love" between Cui Xingzhou (played by Zhang Wanyi), a scheming and black-bellied prince, and Liu Miantang (played by Wang Churan), a smart and cunning female village chief. Cui Xingzhou, who was responsible for the important task of eliminating the mountain troubles in Yangshan, accidentally rescued Liu Miantang, who had never met but was actually a strong enemy, and mistakenly thought she was the favorite concubine of the leader of Yangshan. After waking up from a serious injury and losing part of her memory, Liu Miantang mistook Cui Xingzhou for her "husband" Cui Jiu. Cui Xingzhou took advantage of the situation and transformed himself into Cui Jiu, a depressed and down-and-out merchant, and pretended to be a couple with her. Unexpectedly, although she was a housewife due to amnesia, Liu Miantang opened a porcelain shop with her extraordinary courage and wisdom, and her business was very prosperous. Cui Xingzhou looked at her with admiration because of her business ability and gradually fell in love with her. At the same time, Liu Miantang slowly discovered that Cui Jiu might be hiding an unknown secret. After the emotional crisis when the "scam" was exposed, the two finally treated each other honestly and promised to spend their lives together.
