As part of the reintegration program at a juvenile reformatory, 17-year-old Hector forms an unbreakable friendship with a puppy who is as timid and aloof as he is. When the puppy is adopted, heartbroken Hector runs away to find it, and embarks on an extraordinary journey accompanied by his brother Ismael, his grandmother Kuka, two puppies, a cow and other animals.
