The protagonist Taylor family is a typical middle-class family. After they came back from a trip to the Grand Canyon, the youngest son Michael (David Mazouz) seemed to be influenced by the Indian legends and was obsessed with them all day. His neurotic state also had a huge impact on other family members. Whether it was his father (Kevin Bacon), his mother (Radha Mitchell) or his sister (Lucy Fry), they all seemed to see the "darkness".
