Plot:
ABC's new single-camera comedy pilot "Not Dead Yet" led by Gina Rodrigue of "Jane the Virgin" has been officially booked and will be launched as a new series in the 2022-23 broadcast season. This project is adapted from the book published by Alexandra Potter in 2020. Gina will play a woman "Nell Stevens" who is now bankrupt, single, and feels old. Although she thinks her life is a disaster, she still wants to restart the life and career she left behind ten years ago. She moved back to Pasadena and found that everyone here has a better life than her (in terms of children, career, marriage, etc.), and she can only share an apartment with a stranger who often monitors the apartment's electricity consumption and entangles her recycling habits. Nell was originally a successful reporter, but she put her career on hold to help her then-fiancé open a restaurant. Now that she has returned to her writing career, she is forced to accept the only job she can get, which is to write obituaries. It seems like another step backward in life, but it may help Nell sort out the idea of moving forward.
