During an accidental diving accident on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, a young marine biologist named Oliver discovers a mysterious creature and secretly takes it home to study. Oliver gradually discovers that she has a symbiotic relationship with the creature, driving her to carry out its evil will. Oliver's obsession turns to madness, and her discovery also obliterates her humanity, posing a deadly threat to those around her.
