Plot:
Based on the first season of the podcast SlowBurn, this series focuses on the untold stories and forgotten characters behind the Watergate scandal - from President Nixon's bumbling, opportunistic subordinates, to the fanatics who aided and abetted their crimes, and the whistleblower who ultimately brought down the entire corrupt group. The story revolves around Martha Mitchell. Martha is a striking, outspoken Arkansas socialite and the wife of Nixon's loyal Attorney General John Mitchell. Despite her partisan background, she was the first to publicly warn Nixon about his involvement in Watergate, which led to the collapse of his presidency and the demise of her personal life. As Attorney General, Mitchell was Nixon's most trusted adviser and best friend. He was hot-tempered, foul-mouthed, and ruthless, but also hopelessly in love with his wife, who was famous for her outspokenness. Mitchell will be forced to choose between Martha and the President.
