Plot:
A flood separated Mio from her childhood friend Noe. Mio, whose parents died, was left on the streets. Afang, the proprietress of the famous Osaka restaurant Tenman Ichijoa, took Mio in and found that Mio had a great talent for cooking. In this way, the 12-year-old Mio began to learn cooking at Tenman Ichijoa. Unexpectedly, a fire burned down the store. Mio and the proprietress came to Edo and helped out at a restaurant called Tsuruya. But at first, Mio's cooking was not liked by the customers, but angered them. Although she was comforted by the boss, Mio lost confidence in her cooking skills because of the different tastes in Osaka and Edo. After several setbacks and the guidance and help of Ronin Komatsubara and Dr. Nagata, Mio realized the difference between Osaka and Edo cuisine and made changes. The improved food was recognized, but it was soon imitated by other restaurants, so Mio began to think about the taste that truly belonged to her.
