During the Warring States Period, Kagemitsu, the Lord of Daigo, makes a promise to 12 statues of demons in the lobby of a certain temple that the territory will prosper. In exchange, Kagemitsu's descendants are born with deficiencies in various parts of their bodies, and are regarded as unlucky children and thrown into the river. As time passes, the demons and gods fulfill their promise to Kagemitsu, and peace comes to the country. One day, a young thief named "Dororo" meets a man. Is he a ghost or a human-a man named "Hyakkimaru" with swords in both arms and a human body, staring at the attacking demon with his dull eyes.
