The quiet northeastern town of Lanhe is in turmoil because of a bizarre murder case. A murder case occurred in the famous local enterprise Hongqiao Group, and three people were killed overnight. The suspect Yang Si (played by Hu Jun) was arrested while on the run, but the criminal police captain Guan Yu (played by Chen Jianbin) found many suspicious points during the interrogation, and Yan Hongqiao's first wife Wang Ping (played by Deng Jiajia) seemed to have a close connection with the case. As Guan Yu's investigation deepened, a story of the Northeast that spanned from 1990 to 2005 surfaced.
