The story is set in the late Edo period. In order to meet his beloved wife again, the strongest death row ninja "Gamimaru" and the executioner "Yamada Asaemon Sakiri" go to an island known as the Pure Land to find the "elixir of immortality" in exchange for acquittal. On the island, they kill each other with mysterious monsters and other death row prisoners.
