Plot:
Shen Xingchen (Liu Dong), a girl born in the 1980s, had an unfortunate family since childhood. Her mother eloped with someone and her father died in a car accident. She lived with her uncle since she was a child. Mingyuan (Huang Ming), a boy born in the 1980s, was a neighbor of Shen Xingchen's family when he was a child. Mingyuan's parents were engaged in smuggling privately. Mingyuan's father took everything and went to jail. After learning that Mingyuan's mother had followed someone else, he committed suicide in prison, which brought a heavy blow to Mingyuan's heart. A few years later, Shen Xingchen and Mingyuan, who were promoted to high school, were assigned to the same class, and their childhood friendship underwent a subtle change. However, the misfortunes of their respective families left them with huge psychological trauma. They longed to be loved but did not know how to love others. The thinking about "love" and "life" also continued in the separation and reunion of the two. This film is adapted from the online novel "Forever" and was nominated for the Tokyo International Film Festival Award. Director Li Fangfang wrote the youth novel "Don't Cry at Seventeen" when she was 16 years old.
