Adapted from a "rebellious son murder case" that shocked Hong Kong in 2013, Zhang Xianzong (played by Yang Weilun) and his friend Tang Wenqi (played by Mak Peidong) killed their parents in their apartment and dismembered them. The case entered the court trial process. Both of them denied the charge of murder. Two senior barristers, Wu Guanfeng (played by Lam Hoi-fung) and You Jiali (played by So Yuk-wah), represented them in court to defend them respectively. The prosecutor Zhu Ailun (played by Zhou Wenjian) questioned whether the two had already deployed a murder plan, and it seemed that they were plotting for money.
