Based on Matthew Teague's National Magazine Award-winning article for Esquire magazine, the screenplay by Brad Ingelsby tells the story of how, after learning that his partner Nicole (Johnson) has only six months to live, Matthew (Affleck) finds the unexpected support of their best friend (Segel). He moves in with them and puts his own life on hold.
