Based on the book of the same name by journalist Justin Fenton, and created by The Wire producers David Simon and George Pelecanos, the series chronicles the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department's Gun Tracing Task Force and the corruption and moral decay of an American city where policies of drug prohibition and mass arrests come at the expense of actual police work.
