Adrien Winckler is famous for the publication of his first novel, written under the pseudonym Mody, A Brief Glory. But since then, inspiration has dried up and he faces the painful syndrome of the blank page. To make ends meet, he takes up the occupation of a black man serving strangers, writing novels one at a time for anonymous people who think their lives are worth a book.
