It is said that there is a flower and fruit mountain in Aolai country in the east. On the mountain, there is a stone monkey that absorbs the essence of the sun and the moon and turns into a divine monkey (Qiu Yuefeng), commanding the monkeys and their descendants in the mountain. In order to obtain a desired treasure, the divine monkey Sun Dasheng sneaked into the Dragon Palace and forcefully asked for the Dinghaishenzhen Ruyi Jingu Bang that Dayu used to control floods. The Dragon King of the East China Sea (Bi Keying) was unwilling to give up, so the heavens appealed to the Jade Emperor (Fu Runsheng). The Jade Emperor ordered Taibai Jinxing (Shang Huayin) to go down to the world to recruit him and promised him a title. Sun Dasheng, who didn't know there was a trick, happily went there, but found that it was just Bi Ma Wen who was in charge of raising horses. Upon learning that he had been deceived, the Monkey King rebelled against Heaven and fought a great battle with the heavenly soldiers and generals in Mount Huaguo... This film is adapted from the story in the classic novel "Journey to the West". It took four years to create and won the Special Short Film Award at the 1962 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in Czechoslovakia, the Outstanding Film of the Year Award at the 1978 London International Film Festival in the UK, the third prize at the 4th International Children's Film Festival in Ecuador in 1982, and the Best Art Film Award at the 2nd Chinese Film "Hundred Flowers Award".
