The Smith family comes to the remote Swedish island of Svarta for vacation, but is disturbed by the unfriendly locals and strange rituals. They try to enjoy the island's isolated natural beauty and stubbornly want to ignore the weirdness around them. However, as the holiday approaches, the family realizes that something more sinister is happening and they also discover that a serial killer is on the loose on the island.
