The first half of the film is a hardcore crime action film, telling the story of a killer caught between the police and the gangsters, struggling to survive. The second half adopts a comedic style, re-interpreting the story of the first half in the form of self-parody. Kitano Takeshi plays the protagonist killer "Rat".
